30 Minute Walk in Park can improve your mood and reduce stress

We have all head this jargon before; “an apple a day keeps the doctor away” or how about “After dinner rest a while; after supper walk a mile”. There are so many of them that you abide by none, and now you’re thinking; here is another one to add to my collection. How about I stop you right there and prove you wrong? Not feeling motivated to continue reading this article? How about you watch this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=isMCo4YBFo8 and see how you feel then. Don’t worry we will be here.

Why it affects your mode?

Whether you are in a bad mood, fighting depression or exhausted of your daily routines, walking can really elevate your mode. The chemical endorphins are released from your brain cells and create a positive feeling in your body. No drugs are needed to create the bubble of happiness that walking creates.

Look at the video “Depression: A walking prescription” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GPjmzsGxCxE. Here Mr. John from Kaiser Permanente discusses how depression and anxiety are reduced from walking and no drugs are required. It is a free and cheap method that is accessible to everyone, so why not abuse it?

Why can it alter your stress?

With the 9 to 5 work week and the pressures of bills, fees, and your demands, you can feel like life is boxing you in with the walls squashing you in day by day. This causes you to lash out on your loved ones unintentionally. Then you feel miserable about your action which adds to your stress. It becomes an endless cycle. A walk in the park can really help you out here.

Dr. Eric Berg talks about 8 ways to relieve stress and his number one option is walking. That is how important it is. He states that walking “creates a space for you”. This means that the walls that were closing in on you are pushed dramatically backward giving you space to breathe and in turn, reduce your stress levels.

Does it Matter What Style of Walking You Use?

Anybody can walk. Just move both your feet and the body does the rest of the magic. Well not quite. There are styles or rather types of walking. You can walk with a slouch, or speed walk to arrive faster at your destination. You can walk up a hill or down it. Which one is the most effective?

Dr. Justin C. Lin talks about the correct way of walking in this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-fD2TSL2s7I. Here he shows you the most effective way of walking, which is how to not damage your body when walking. He explains to you why this is important and also demonstrates how to perform it step by step.
